How long will it take to transfer emails from Gmail to another account?

The time it takes to migrate your emails depends on the amount of data you wish to migrate. Small accounts can be finished within a few minutes, while larger mailboxes may take some time.

Google slows down the migration speed of your emails to your new account once a certain data limit is reached, and the migration may take several hours. However, you don’t have to worry about this. You can simply shut down the MailJerry app and even your computer, as all data is directly transferred between Gmail and your other account.

Can I use my Gmail account during the migration?

Yes! You can use your Gmail account as usual to read, write and send emails during the migration. It’s important, however, to activate the Mailbox Sync for your email migration. The mailbox sync ensures that emails received (and sent) during the migration will be added to your new account once the initial email migration is complete.

MailJerry did not migrate all emails, but shows lots of skipped messages. Why is that?

When migrating emails with custom Gmail labels to another provider (including Gmail), skipped messages can occur. But there’s not need to worry: As long as MailJerry does not show failed messages, you can rest assured that all emails were migrated.

The skipped messages are shown because of how Google handles Gmail labels, which is different from all other email providers working with folders. Due to this Gmail characteristic, MailJerry skips emails to prevent duplicates.
