Founded in 1996, Rediff has gone through many changes – from listing to delisting from NASDAQ in 2016. But one thing has always remained: since the early days, Rediff launched its popular email service, Rediffmail.

Rediff IMAP Settings:

To receive emails or to migrate emails with MailJerry, add the following rediff IMAP settings to your email client or software:

Rediff SMTP Settings:

To send emails using your rediff mail account, add these settings to your email client in the section for "sending emails" (sometimes also called "outgoing server").

SMTP Port	465 or 586 (for SSL)
SMTP Security	none or SSL
Username	Your rediff email address
Password	Your reddif email account password

Rediff POP Settings:

You can also rely on the POP protocol to receive emails (differences between IMAP and POP are explained below). If you wish to do so, add these settings to your email software instead of the recommended rediff IMAP settings.

Username	Your rediff email address
Password	Your reddif email account password

When Is It Better to Use POP Instead of IMAP?

Choosing between POP3 and IMAP to receive your emails requires a moment of consideration:

If you select POP3, your emails are downloaded from the server and stored directly on your device. This allows you to access your messages offline, making it ideal when your internet connection is limited or unreliable. POP3 can also help reduce server storage usage, which may be helpful if your email account has limited mailbox space.

But don’t forget to back up your emails regularly if you opt for POP3! Usually, emails are deleted from the mail server when downloading them using POP3, which means that you can’t rely on your hosting provider’s backup technology.

If you regularly access your email from multiple devices, IMAP is the better choice. IMAP keeps your messages synchronized across all devices, ensuring consistent access and easy email management. Plus, you don’t have to back up your emails yourself, since your messages are still stored on the rediff mail server.

Rediff Email Migration: How to Migrate Emails from / to Rediff

To migrate your existing emails to your redif email account (or away from rediff to another hosting provider), simply follow these steps and you're done in a few minutes!

➡️ Download our free email migrator or conveniently start the email migration directly in your browser.

➡️ Open MailJerry and select "New Migration".

➡️ Select the account type of your existing provider and fill in the settings and email credentials in the "Existing Address" fields. When selecting IMAP, also add your IMAP mail server address!

➡️ For the "New Address" section, select your account type (IMAP for rediff) and enter your email credentials and (if required) your IMAP mail server address.

➡️ Click on "Check Settings" to verify your configuration.

➡️ If everything looks good, start the migration by clicking on "Start Migration".
