POP3 or IMAP: Which Is Better for Your IceWarp Email?
When setting up your IceWarp email, you can choose between IMAP and POP for receiving messages. Each option manages your emails differently and serves distinct needs.
IMAP keeps your mailbox synchronized across all your devices. Any action you take—reading, deleting, or moving an email—is instantly reflected everywhere you access your account. This makes IMAP ideal if you use multiple devices, such as a phone, laptop, and desktop, and want to keep everything in sync.
POP, on the other hand, downloads your emails to one device and removes them from the server (depending on your settings). This can help save storage space on your IceWarp account but means your messages won’t appear on other devices once downloaded.
If you want flexibility and access to your full mailbox wherever you are, IMAP is usually the better choice. But if you prefer storing your emails locally or need to reduce server usage, POP may suit you best.
