What is better? POP or IMAP?
When adding your email account to any email client or software, you usually have to decide between two protocols: POP and IMAP. But what does this mean?
By selecting POP3 for your account, emails are fetched from the server and saved on your device. You gain the ability to access your messages offline, making it ideal for situations where internet connectivity is limited or unreliable. What's more, POP3 allows to save disk space on both your device and your charter email account, since downloaded emails are deleted from the Charter mailserver.
However, if you frequently switch between multiple devices to access your email account, IMAP becomes the better solution. IMAP ensures that your emails remain synchronized across all devices, allowing you to conveniently access and seamlessly management your email communication.
